Update PDI Campaign Manager to v9.7.9
In concert with our OEM partner, Political Data Inc., we have released v9.0 to PDI customers. Below are the recent updates to the program. To update your program, click on the link above and 'Save' the PDIV9_Update.msi file to your Desktop so you can find it easily. When the download is complete, double-click on the file to run the program.

Important Note: You CANNOT update directly from Version 8.0 to Version 9.0. Version 9.0 is based on Access 2002, while Version 8.0 is based on Access 97. Version 9.0 has to be installed first and a new license file acquired from either VoterAccess or PDI. Further, Version 8.0 voter files do not work with Version 9.0. Version 8.0 Contact database files can be easily converted to Version 9.0. Contact VoterAccess about the FREE service.

What's New in Version 9.0  Back to Top
What's new in Version 9.7.9 - 7/18/2007
Version 9.7.9 fixes a feature in the Tools & Utilities | Transfer Tags... form which prevented tags from being transfered between Voter daatabases.

What's new in Version 9.7.8 - 8/19/2006
Version 9.7.8 updates the street number sort algorithm to allow for an unusual data anomaly.

What's new in Version 9.7.7 - 6/23/2006
Version 9.7.7 changes the street number sort on walk lists to better account for street numbers of varying lengths within a street, so that 300, 40, 5 now sorts as 5, 40, 300 vs. 300, 40, 5.

What's new in Version 9.7.6 - 6/15/2006
Version 9.7.6 adds code to ensure that a temporary table is always available to the Find Voter form opened from 'View Data & Find Voters' form.

What's new in Version 9.7.5 - 5/20/2006
Version 9.7.5 fixes a bug that prevented the 'Propensity Breakdown' report opened from the Count Report form opening when the 'View Report' button was clicked.

What's new in Version 9.7.4 - 3/26/2006
Version 9.7.4 fixes a bug that defaulted the party selection field to [Party] when only one household party type was selected from the list, causing the program to return no matching records.

 What's new in Version 9.7.3 - 10/25/2005
Version 9.7.3 corrects a bug in the POSTNET bar code generated for residual addresses that do not qualify for a Carrier Route Sort rate when this option is selected for labels or mail merge letters. Non-qualifiers that do not include the Carrier Route line in the address now include a full bar code so that they can get a better postage rate.

What's new in Version 9.7.2 - 10/9/2005
Version 9.7.2 contains a variety of enhancements. First, the Voter Data form and 'Specify & Analyze Profiles' forms have been updated. The 'Voter Data' for has a less-cluttered view of the voter record. The 'Specify & Analyze Profiles' form has a re-organized 'Who' criteria tab to improve ease of use, and eliminate rarely-used features. The 'Select Flag' listbox now serves a dual purpose, showing both Select Flags and Propensity Flags. A 'Criteria Preview' window at the bottom of the form show shows you the criteria you have selected without requiring that you click on the 'View and Save your Select' button. To view the list of Propensity Flags in your file, just click on the 'Propensity Flags' radio button at the top of the list. You can then select as many of these flags as you need to.

Voter Propensity flags are automatically generated if they are not present in your file. You will be prompted to generate them the first time you click of the 'Propensity Flags' radio button. These flags rank likelihood to vote by testing for votes in the five most recent / important elections in your file (selected when your file is processed) and assign both a rank number of 01 to 15 (15 being the best rank, or 5 out of 5 votes cast) plus a string showing the combination of elections voted in to enable added precision in your selections. There are also 'New Voter' and 'Non Voter' flags, with 'New Voters' being those voters who registered after the last election in the file. Using these flags enables you to select combinations of votes that could be created manually using the 'Voting History' options on the form, but 1) do so much more quickly and 2) result in better performance since the results are pre-calculated.

Note on how to read a Propensity Flag
If the flag reads '11 (4-5;3-4;2-3;1-1)' this means that the assigned rank is 11 and that the voter voted in:
             - the last election
             - two of the last three selected (thus voting in the third to last and last election, missing the second to last)
             - three of the last four elections (thus voting in the third and fourth to last elections and the last election)
             - four of the last five elections  (thus voting in the third, fourth and fifth to last elections and the last election)

Complementing the addition of Propensity Flags is a new tab on the Count Data Form called 'Propensity Breakdown' that shows a crosstab of propensity ranking numbers (as well as New an Non Voters) by Party, Age and Absentee Voting. The crosstab contains rows for both Numbers and Percent for each rank, and like all the other Count Data tabs, can be exported to an Excel file.

What's new in Version 9.6.9 - 10/29/2004
Version 9.6.9 adds a client-requested feature to the GOTV reports: custom codes. When you open the Tools & Utilities | 'Set Data Entry Options' Form, the Set Custom Codes tab now enables entry of custom two-character codes specifically for GOTV reports. These codes appear just as they do in the Call and Walk Lists now. As with the Call and Walk lists, the Response Code page footer reflects the custom codes and descriptions. A default set of codes similar to the current hard-code values is automatically added to the list the first time you open the form. In addition, the 'Walk Code' field shown on the standard Walk List reports is now displayed. This field is filled by tagging records from an external file using the 'Record Tag/Survey Data' form opened from the Voter Database menu.

What's new in Version 9.6.8 - 10/27/2004
Version 9.6.8 changes the Avery 5160 For Polling Places and Avery 5962 For Polling Places reports so that they print one label per household when the 'Non-Trad. HH' option is selected on the 'Select Records & Reports...' form. The Non-Trad. HH option is only present for these reports.

What's new in Version 9.6.7 - 10/10/2004
Version 9.6.7 corrects three minor bugs. First, when filtering the 'View & Edit Voter Records' form by a profile which included Tags, the form would not display Tags associated with the selected voter records. Second, the 'Tag Analysis Report' has been reworked to allow for Custom Tags it was unable to show results for previously. Third, when in the 'Who Criteria' tab of the 'Specify & Count Voter Profiles' form, the 'Not' query operator was ignored when combined with a Universe selection.

What's new in Version 9.6.6 - 09/01/2004
Version 9.6.6 enhances the 'Precinct Counts' report, adding a grouping by the 'District Type' to distinguish between City and Community College Districts (CCD) with the same code.

What's new in Version 9.6.1 - 07/11/2004
Version 9.6.1 adds code to ensure that Voter and Contact database tables include recently added fields, which when missing, caused errors, mostly in the Contact database. Other related errors have been addressed in this release as well, thanks to some hard work by Dean Rona at PDI, our OEM partner.

A significant enhancement has been made to the email letter capability. New security patches from Microsoft have made necessary the addition of code and the use of a utility to bypass a warning dialog that Outlook displays for programmatically generated emails. The utility, called 'ClickYes' from Context Magic, clicks the 'Yes' button so that user intervention is not required to send a batch of emails. The program is only turned on when messages are being sent.

If you wish to install ClickYes, click here:  ClickYesSetup.
If you wish to visit the product web site, go to  www.contextmagic.com/express-clickyes/

New to email letters is the ability to send true HTML mail by pasting the page source into the message body window in the email letter setup form. If images are included, they must be explicitly referenced as in 'http://www.yourwebsite/images/image.jpg'.

What's new in Version 9.5.5 - 05/08/2004
Version 9.5.5 corrects a problem which prevented some users from exporting records when logged in as 'Manager'

What's new in Version 9.5.4 - 05/08/2004
Version 9.5.4 provides several enhancements. Key among these is the ability to filter profile by geographic area on the fly - without having to create a permanent profile. The 'Select Records & Reports' form now includes 'Add Filter' and 'Clear Filter' buttons, which enable users to select areas such as precincts which which to filter the selected profile. Another requested feature is the inclusion of a P.S. field in mail merge letters. Other enhancements include visual flagging of voter records which are also in the Contact database with automatic updates if the Voter record is edited, and the option to print a reports of  the statistics in the Count Data form in addition to exporting the data to Excel.

Finally, formal instructions for excluding records from a profile based on their Tags have been formalized. Tags are now only eliminated from a profile using the 'Select Wizard', a powerful and easy-to-use tool for working with multiple profiles. These instructions are displayed and can be printed when you click on the 'Not' operator while viewing the 'Saved Profiles & Tags' tab on the form.

What's new in Version 9.2.7 - 02/24/2004
Version 9.2.7 corrects a bug that caused Voter Database Mail Merge letters with the Polling Place option activated to ignore font settings for the polling place data.

What's new in Version 9.2.6 - 02/21/2004
Version 9.2.6 enhances the 'Record Tags/Survey Data' form when the 'Record Survey/Tag Data' option is selected. The option now automatically checks the newly added flags for any response values in the 'Tag' field that have been set as 'Support Flags'. By default, Tag values 'Y', 'N', and 'U' are set as Support Flags, but this setting may be changed by using 'Custom Codes tab of the Tools & Utilities | Set Data Entry Options fom.

Prior to v9.2.6,
support flags were only recorded via the 'Record Support Flags' option, in which all matched records receive the same TagGroup, TagName and SupportFlag. Using this option, if the user wishes to get separate values for each type of response, the records being matched have to be broken down into separate files before running the Tag Records process so that different support flags may be recorded for each file.
